Tulip Grove Christian Academy is a homeschool tutorial founded in 2013. Our mission is to serve and partner with homeschooling families in the Old Hickory/Hermitage/Mt. Juliet area. Our program meets on Mondays at Tulip Grove Baptist Church, where we are proud to be a ministry of the church. Our goal is to come alongside families in their homeschool journey, offering strong academics, in addition to support and enrichment activities in a Christian environment.
We offer tutorial classes for grades K-12 for 30 weeks from 8:30 am-4 pm. Morning classes for elementary will primarily focus on history and science, while the afternoon will offer classes such as art, music, writing, Spanish, and PE. Most elementary classes will not have homework.
Middle school students can expect homework each week, particularly in core classes. Our goal is to offer high quality, stand-alone classes to ease some of the burden on parents at home, as well as prepare the student for high school level classes. High school students can expect homework each week appropriate to the class and in the pursuit of high school credit worthy classes. Please see the 2019-2020 Classes page for specific class offerings.
We are a volunteer-run organization and we believe parental involvement is vital to a successful homeschooling endeavor. We do try to balance this with your own family responsibilities and commitments. Our service requirements at this time are:
Serve (1) day as hall monitor
Serve (1) day in the elementary lunchroom
Serve (1) day as preschool helper
Serve on (1) special activity
